Using this site
CompressGIFs is a free set of browser-based tools for compressing, resizing, and converting GIFs, and for checking a GIF against the upload requirements of platforms like Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, and X. No account, sign-up, or payment is required to use any of it.
Your files, your responsibility
You retain full ownership and responsibility for any file you process here. As explained in the Privacy Policy, files are processed entirely on your own device and are never uploaded to us — we have no access to them and no ability to review, store, or moderate what you run through these tools. Don't use this site to process content you don't have the right to use.
Platform limits are provided as a guide, not a guarantee
The size, dimension, and format limits used in the platform presets and compliance checkers (for Discord, Slack, WhatsApp, Telegram, X, and others) are sourced from each platform's own published documentation at the time they were added, and are refreshed when we're made aware of a change. Platforms can and do change these limits without notice. Passing a check on this site is a strong signal, not a binding guarantee, that a given platform will accept your file — always confirm on the platform itself if it's critical that an upload succeeds.
No warranty
This site is provided free of charge, "as is," without warranty of any kind. We work to keep every tool accurate and functioning, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted availability or that results will always be error-free, and we aren't liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of the site.
Changes
These terms may be updated as the site's tools change. Continuing to use the site after an update means you accept the current version, which will always be posted on this page.
